i know a data pakage is for internet but i dont have internet
so will they still charge me $10 a month even though i dont have internet

Open Question: Want to buy a cell phone – advice?
I don’t need something with too many features and too expensive. But I don’t want something too basic either. (I need it to be able to store a lot of SMSs)

Although I’d rather not have it touch, cause I think it’s not practical to write messages, it might just be a false impression and I’m open to any suggestions.

I don’t want a Blackberry.
I’m used to Nokia.

Open Question: Do at&t phones work with at&t only?
I just bought a home phone (not cell phone) made by at&t and whenever someone trys to call us, we can’t answer…it rings and people can leave messages, but we’re not able to talk to them or make calls.
Also, we have Comcast.

Open Question: I lost my phone and I’m feeling very helpless…what can I do?
I lost my phone at the bar the other night. We went back the next day to look for it with no success. I checked my usage online and the only thing there was 2 messages that were received around 1230pm the next day and then nothing after that. We’ve texted/called it various times after this, but nothing else was received after that time and now it goes straight to voicemail. This leads me to believe that someone found it, opened those 2 text messages then turned it off.

I’m not sure what to do at this point. I already talked to Verizon and they said there’s nothing they can do.

Would it do any good to go to the police? Does anybody else know anything at all that I can do to get it back?

I don’t have the money to buy a new phone and I have no record of my contacts or anything that were on this phone. I’d really appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Open Question: Bluetooth Problems with handsfree system in the car?
I recently bought a new lancer and it uses bluetooth to activate the handsfree option. My phone worked for two weeks, but then stopped working. I’m with optus prepaid, and just bought a new nokia E63 which was a big upgrade from my old phone which was also a nokia. I’ve kept the same sim card, I tried it out today and it didn’t work. My daughters Optus phone won’t work either, but my husbands old Nokia Vodafone is working.

Could this be the network? I’m not good with technology so any advice will help.

Open Question: If you are on the O2 mobile phone network what deals do you get if you buy tickets from the O2 arena?
I remember seeing a while back that the O2 network ran a promotion either for discounts or priority tickets. There wasn’t anything that I wanted to see at the time so I ignored the advert.

Now I need tickets to an event so wondered if anyone knew if they still did promotions of this kind and if so where I could find them. I had a quick Google but couldn’t find anything.

Open Question: Does a busy signal when calling a cell phone means the person is rejecting your calls or have another call?
Ok heres the situation, I bought a webcam from a seller on Ebay but it never arrived. I emailed the person and she claimed she posted it but is cool she said she will meet me and pass me the webcam. I brought it home but it doesnt work well for me and since she has a return policy, I contacted her and she said I can mail her the item before she issue me my refund. I did but no answer from her. I text her on her phone and she ask for my account no. Still I waited for a few days and no refund came. I text her again and she said she would definitely refund me but shes just too busy and pls wait for her sms. It sounds like a pathetic excuse? Anyway I waited couple weeks more. I discovered shes no longer a registered user on Ebay so they cant help my case. I text her and no reply. I called her a few times but I keep getting busy signal. Am I being scammed? for 10 bucks???

Open Question: What is Walmarts return policy on Straighttalk.com cell phones?
I am not sure if I trust what a manager at Walmart told me.
I bought a cell phone because it “read” that it had a keyboard. It was the LG 220C. It does not have a keyboard but I bought the phone in the mail from walmart.com and I needed to activate it right then and there because I didn’t have a phone. So I went to walmart and told them that I want to upgrade to one phone up for $20 and get the one that has a keyboard.

Plan A: The manager stated/and wrote on my receipt. “Bring phone back for an exchage/upgrade by 30 days and we will take care of it”.

Plan B: My idea: I can’t be with out service/phone and phone number, so I was going to buy the upgrade and port my number, etc.. and then return the phone for a refund.

What do you think? Will that work?

Open Question: Series Financial Help Question.?
My husband and I have separate everything. We want to buy a house at some point.
I have two checking accounts and two savings accounts as an individual.
My husband has two checking accounts and one savings as an individual.
We have an orange savings account together.

I pay all the bills except for: our cell phone bill, his car payment, his car insurance, and his student loans.
He then gives me $300 every two weeks for his contribution to the household expenses such as rent, day care, food, cable, electric and renter’s insurance.
I pay my car payment, car insurance, student loans, dell credit, old navy credit, and target credit.

We do not have any major credit cards and never did.
We are afloat with no bad debt.
We have no substantial savings in the savings accounts that we have, but we are trying to build that up and hope to buy a house in two years or so.

My questions are:
Should we have a joint checking account?
How can we save more money?
What is a down payment that is reasonable for a small 3 bedroom house in Maryland? I don’t think that we can save more than $5,000 in two years though.
What else should we doing to reach our goal?

Open Question: why do credit cards cancel on you if you have credit issues elsewhere?
So up until I was laid off in 2008 from a full-time job, I had near perfect credit. I always always always paid my biills on time and was seldomly ever late for any of them. I had a few credit cards. I have/had a MasterCard, a Kohls card, a Old Navy card, and another card from my bank that I never used or even activated since the account was only for overdraft protection.
Keep in mind I have/had a near perfect record with MasterCard since like 2002. I ALWAYS paid my balance off in FULL not just on that card but any card I used I always made a habit of paying them off in full.
So everyone knows that the only way to apply for jobs these days is via computer. Well my motherboard on my computer went bad so I had to buy a new laptop so I opened a Best Buy Credit card. During that time I also had a TEMPORARY contract job and thought I would be able to make the payments. Well about a week after I had charged the amount to the card, wouldn’t you know that my contract temp job ended early. Then to top it off I had also during that time charged a small amount to my Kohls card thinking I”d be able to pay it off — needed clothes for that job. Well keep in mind that was like last August. Well when the contract ended earlier than it was supposed to, I was stuck with two bills I could not pay. Unemployment benefits only pay out so much. So I had to prioritze my bills. I paid the things that had to be paid like my car payment, student loans, insurance, cell phone (I have the bare minimum no frills cell phone plan and it’s the only phone I have) and groceries — I applied for food stamps but was told I made too much on unemployment benefits. This pretty much left me with nothing left over to give to the credit card people. I paid them a few times when I had a little left over but those payments were far and few between. So I mean when you don’t have money to pay even the bare minimum on cards you just don’t have the money. And I tried to tell those companies that I was unemployed and asked for help and all they wanted to do was put me on some type of payment plan even though I tried to tell them I did NOT have any left over for that. So I mean they just didn’t get paid. So I mean I can understand those particular companies not liking me. But what I don’t understand is why other companies have to stick their nose in your business and close your other cards that you didn’t even have problems with. My bank closed my card with them that I have for overdraft protection and have never ever even used it for that or anything else. Will Mastercard close on me next? It’s like I have a perfect or near perfect history with them by themselves (both the bank and mastercard), but my credit got messed up by Best Buy and Kohls. Why should the bank and/or mastercard even care? My debt is NOT with them. I don’t understand. I mean yes I know I didn’t pay Best Buy and Kohls like I should have but you can’t squeeze blood from a turnip. I mean shouldn’t they look at my past history and see that the only reason my accounts went delinquent is due to falling on some hard times? I know the simple solution would be to get a job. And TRUST ME I am looking but I’m not getting any phone calls back for interviews. Any explanation as to why credit cards that I didn’t even use are closing on me based on a couple other cards would be appreciated. Thanks.

Open Question: Can I use a calling card in a another country with my cell phone and not be charged international minutes?
I’m going on vacation and was wondering if I bought a calling card where I’m going and use it with my cell phone will I be charged international minutes?

Open Question: How do I stay relaxed while I think my husband is cheating?
I know this is a strange question, but I’m 38 weeks pregnant and I know that this crying and stress is not good for me or the baby. I need some ideas to keep my mind off of this infidelity until after the baby is born and I can decide if/how I want to divorce my husband.

Background Info:
-Three months ago, I found a text from my husband’s female coworker that had a naked photo of the coworker. My husband had saved the photo and given her a special ringtone. He denied for 2 weeks that it was her until we had a big fight. He said it wasn’t important and he wasn’t interested in her.
-After finding the photo, I became suspicious (especially since he didn’t own up to it) and started checking his phone records. More and more, he started calling and texting the coworker. At first, he tried to say she just texts him b/c he’s her boss but eventually he said they were friends. He said she’s a lesbian though her FB profile says she’s bisexual. During this time, we also went to counseling and things got better. I stopped checking his phone records hoping I could trust him.
-Two weeks ago, he received a phone call from a friend asking for some help. I was suspicious b/c I could tell the call was not real. He left the house, and I checked the records. There was no phone call from his friend, but as soon as he left the house he called and texted the coworker 7 times. Her FB profile said she was at a bar he used to work at with her coworkers. When I asked him where he was, he blew up and threatened divorce if I called anyone to confirm his whereabouts. Every time, I mention it, he gets extremely defensive and mentions divorce. The following week he bought a new cell phone whose records I cannot check, though he swears he does not talk to the coworker anymore b/c I told him it was inappropriate.
-Last night, I started to go crazy with pregnancy hormones and the need to know for sure. I looked in his wallet and found 3 condoms (we’re married and pregnant and not using protection since we are supposedly in a safe and monogamous relationship) in each fold of the wallet.

I’m 90% sure my husband cheated and may still be cheating, but my family says I need to focus on me until I am in a healthier position to make a decision. How to stay relaxed?
There seems to be some question about my sex life during the pregnancy. Except for the first two-three months of morning sickness, my husband and I had sex at least 4 times a week during the entire pregnancy. On the day when he left to see his “friend,” we had had sex 3 times and I was 36 weeks pregnant. He had plenty of sex and love in our marriage.

Would I just buy a cellphone here and change the sim card to Rogers when I’m back in Canada?

Would I have to do something with a contract or plans when I buy it?

I never had a cell phone so I don’t really know much, bottom line, I’m noob at this lol.
