Open Question: Has anyone used the Best Buy Black Tie Protection Plan for a repair for your cell phone?
I accidently dropped my phone in a full sink of water (doing dishes while talking to my mom on the phone-not smart) and now it won’t even turn on-I was able to get the screen to flicker a bit, but it won’t do anything else. I have literally had it a week. Its a brand new Palm Pre that I bought from Best Buy, and I also purchased the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Plan-that says it is supposed to cover “accidental damage”…but in the small print it also says that it does not cover “abuse or neglect”. I didn’t intentionally damage or abuse or neglect my phone, but am worried that Best Buy will balk when I take it in to get it replaced or repaired-especially since it is such an expensive phone.
Has anyone used this protection plan, does anyone have any tips (esp. if you work for Best Buy!), or advice for when I go see them later today?
